All season long the Mets offense went to sleep once the opposition took the lead, in fact this season the Mets still haven't come back to win a game after trailing by four or more runs. But suddenly around Aug. 15 the Mets started hitting in the clutch late in games. To an interested spectator these games are exciting, while us fans have come to know them as cardiac situations. The team that was described as having a glass jaw earlier this season, is now never out of a game and has been winning most of them. For this team to make the post season they may have to rely on that clutch offense to carry them through the stretch run....With just a two game lead in the NL east the Mets may be faced with a rotation missing not one but two of it's starters. The rotation has been the strongest point of this entire team, at times both the offense and defense have been inconsistent while they have been compensating for the pen all year long.
