Alex Gordon led off the game with his third home run of the spring and also singled, and Jeff Francoeur added two hits and two RBIs in the Kansas City Royals' 6-5 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night.
Lorenzo Cain and Brayan Pena also each had two hits for Kansas City.
Royals starter Jonathan Sanchez worked 5 1-3 innings, giving up three runs - two earned - and five hits and three walks. He struck out six. Jeremy Jeffries picked up the win, allowing one hit in two-thirds of an inning. Greg Holland threw a scoreless ninth for the save.
Diamondbacks starter Trevor Cahill went 4 2-3 innings. He allowed two runs on five hits, walked a batter and struck out six. Tyler Skaggs, one of the Diamondbacks' top prospects, took the loss. He allowed four runs and seven hits in three innings.
