Kansas City Royals broadcaster Rex Hudler caught a foul ball while sitting in the broadcast booth during Sunday's game in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels.

It happened in the bottom of the second inning as Angels catcher Chris Iannetta hit a foul ball behind home plate. Hudler made a two-handed catch and made a "raise the roof" gesture as he accepted the applause from the crowd.

Danny Duffy Fans 8 In Royals Win

Ok, I'm not going to lie... I went to bed at the rain delay. Yes, I know the game was nearly over, but I just wanted to lay in bed and catch up on the new season of "The Killing". Awesome show, by the way... and the game never restarted, so I dodn't miss anything as the Royals won 3-0 in the rain-shortened game. My early bow-out aside, Danny Duffy kept the streak...

Royals put OF Cain on DL with left groin strain

Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain has been placed on the disabled list with a left groin strain, taking him out of the lineup as the team returns to Kansas City for its home opener. Cain hurt the groin when he bumped into the wall while chasing a flyball off the bat of Oakland's Daric Barton in the second inning of a 3-0 victory Tuesday night. Cain was held out of the lineup Wednesday...

What Happened Last Night?

Last night the Royals kicked off their series with the Oakland A's and unless you're a night owl, you probably did stay up to watch it. The Royals lost 1-0 as they wasted a solid first effort by Luis Mendoza, who seems to be trying on the Bruce Chen magic when it comes to pitching. He's getting people out, but we really don't know why. The bigger story in the...

The Royals are at .500 and head back to Kansas City

It’s almost a week into the 2012 season for the Kansas City Royals. After taking two out of three from the Los Angeles Angels and one out of three from the Oakland A’s, the Royals are showing some promise, but there’s still a ways to go. The anticipated weak link of the Royals, the starting rotation, is doing well. In two starts against the Angels and the A’s, Bruce Chen...

Royals head home for reset after 3-3 road trip

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) An encouraging road trip to start the season ended in most discouraging fashion for the Kansas City Royals. Now, they return home for a reset of sorts. Kansas City plays the Cleveland Indians on Friday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals took two of three from the Los Angeles Angels last weekend, and started out well against the Oakland Athletics before...

Broxton wild as A's rally for 5-4 win in 12

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Jonathan Broxton hit Jonny Gomes on the first pitch he threw with the bases loaded in the 12th inning, forcing Jemile Weeks home for the winning run in the Oakland Athletics' 5-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. Moments earlier, Broxton (0-1) plunked new A's cleanup hitter Yoenis Cespedes on the first pitch to load the bases and the...

Angels believe in Iannetta's bat

It's no coincidence that Jerry Dipoto's first personnel moves as the Angels' general manager last fall were to trade for Chris Iannetta and trade away Jeff Mathis. The catching position -- so near and dear to manager Mike Scioscia's heart -- had become a black hole in the Angels' lineup. Mathis, Bobby Wilson and rookie Hank Conger combined for a .192 average...

Who's the pizza delivery guy in right field?

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Pizza delivery, courtesy of Jeff Francoeur. The Kansas City Royals' right fielder had 20 personal pizzas delivered Wednesday to Oakland Athletics fans in section 149. The gesture came a day after the second annual "Bacon Tuesday," as it has become known. Last year, Francoeur tossed a ball wrapped in a 100 bill into the elevated seats above his...
