Courtesy: Kansas City Royals KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Royals announced today that the team has declined its 2013 option on right-handed pitcher Joakim Soria, making him a free agent. Soria, 28, missed the entire 2012 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on April 3. Acquired in the Major League Phase of the Rule 5 Draft on December 7, 2006, Soria is 13-15 with 160 saves and a 2.40 ERA in 298 career Major League outings, all for Kansas City.
