Found August 11, 2012 on Pro Sports Daily:
Centerfielder Jarrod Dyson can turn singles into doubles and doubles into triples with his blazing speed. Dyson, however, hit what would have normally been a triple for him, but had to settle for a single in the eighth inning. Dyson sprained his left ankle on his swing that carried the ball over the head of Orioles centerfielder Adam Jones. Dyson limped to first base. He remained in the game, a 7-1 loss to the Orioles, just long enough for Alex Gordon to ground into a double play. In the bottom of the inning, Lorenzo Cain replaced Dyson, who went 2-for-2, in center. Manager Ned Yost said Dyson's injury was not "real serious," that Dyson caught his spikes when he swung.

Crystal ball: Royals rotation in 2014

Royals fans will agree that the biggest headache from the 2012 season has been the starting rotation. The loss of Danny Duffy and Felipe Paulino to Tommy John surgeries depleted an already suspect rotation and crippled the team's chances to be competitive this season. But as crazy as it may sound, the rotation may not be that far away from being a strength. A year from now...

Jeff Francoeur and the Opposite Field

Lee Judge’s blog, Judging the Royals is, well, interestimg. I would have titled it Mock Scout with Lee J., but, surprisingly, I was not asked for my thoughts on the matter. I always imagined my first FanGraphs post on Judge would be for NotGraphs, and I suppose there is still time for that. However, if one can look past the Ron Polk Point System (Hey, Alex Gordon finally passed...

5 Weeks Left For Fantasy Baseball: Waiver Wire HELP!

There are five weeks left in fantasy baseball’s regular season so let’s get right to this week’s waiver wire pickups… Jarrod Dyson- OF-Royals- The team might no longer be relevant, but this speed merchant has been on fire and made himself so noticed that manager Ned Yost has decided to start him in center vs righties while veteran Jeff Francoeur will bat vs lefties. Dyson...

Royals Finally Tire of Yuniesky Betancourt

Sometimes it’s fun to say “I told you so.” Now, no one wants to read a punk blogger who goes around trying to act like he could run a major league team. So I don’t want to go there. But after writing five articles in the past year and a half about how the Royals butchered any chance of having a useful utility infielder on their team, they finally parted ways with the primary...

Rearranging the deck chairs on the S.S. Royals

In an unexpected move last Sunday, the Royals designated infielder Yuniesky Betancourt for assignment. I’m sure there’s some Royals fans who think this is an elaborate joke being played on them and the Yunibomber will be back. But it’s true. Yuni is no longer a Royal. Really! (I think.) Remember when the Royals signed Betancourt to a one-year, two million dollar contract,...

Pav helps Royals down Palace

Palace started well at the Madejski, with Aaron Martin heading over from six yards out before Adam Le Fondre wasted a decent chance for the Royals. Pogrebnyak missed the target and Danny Guthrie had a goalbound shot blocked right before half-time whistle blew. Pogrebnyak (52) grabbed his first goal in the blue and white hoops when his shot was deflected past the Palace keeper to...

Royals 7, Orioles 3

Alex Gordon hit two of Kansas City's four home runs, Luis Mendoza took a shutout into the seventh inning and the Royals beat the Baltimore Orioles 7-3 Saturday night after the start of the game was delayed by rain for more than three hours. Salvador Perez and Billy Butler also connected for the Royals, who have 14 homers in their last seven games. Gordon has nine home runs this...

Butler leads Royals past Orioles

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Billy Butler came within a single of hitting for the cycle, and the Kansas City Royals beat Baltimore 8-2 on Thursday night to end the Orioles' five-game winning streak and take the luster off Manny Machado's impressive major league debut. Butler homered in a four-run first inning, doubled in the third and tripled in the fifth. Needing only a single to...

Butler homered in a four-run first inning, doubled in the third and tripled in the fifth. Needing only a single to become the first Kansas...

Machado hits 2 HRs as Orioles beat Royals

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Luke Hochevar threw 90 pitches, 87 of which he found satisfactory. The other three cost him dearly. Hochevar yielded three home runs and didn't make it out of the sixth inning in the Kansas City Royals' 7-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night. In his previous 22 starts, Hochevar (7-10) gave up a total of 13 homers. In this one, Omar Quintanilla...

Welcome back, Royals!

For the last 2 years, the Kansas City Royals have been masquerading as an organization that is finally headed in the right direction, only to be ultimately exposed once again as the disgraceful Royals we have known for the better part of the last 20 years. Everyone outside of the Kansas City Royals fanbase has been able to see it for years, so why do Royals fans themselves continue...

A powerful breakfast

As a guy who has lacked in home run power over the beginning of his career in Kansas City, Billy Butler, has taken the bull by the horns this season setting a new career high in home runs only 111 games into the 2012 season.  Butler is on pace to become the first Royal to hit 30 home runs in a season since Jermaine Dye did it in 2000. A 12 year drought could be broken by a player...
