The Kansas City Royals picked up another win and a series victory on Sunday defeating the New York Mets 6-2 at Citi Field. Mike Moustakas put the Royals on the scoreboard first with a solo shot in the fourth. Moose jumped over a 2-0 fastball from Zack Wheeler crushing the pitch to right-center for his 10th homer of the season. Kansas City increased their lead with a three-run fifth. David Lough led off the inning with a "double" (Marlon Byrd lost the flyball in the sun) then advanced to third on a Miguel Tejada bunt. Jarrod Dyson pinch-ran for Lough and ended up scoring on a wild pitch. Lough left the game with right quad tightness according to Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star. Hosmer ended up drawing a walk then Alex Gordon reached base on an error; Byrd lost a second flyball in the second flat-out dropping this one. Lorenzo Cain followed with a single to right easily driving in Hosmer; Gordon was also able to score on the play thanks to Byrd bobbling the ball. The ...

Miguel Tejada seizes 2nd base job

by John Viril— The Kansas City Royals have struggled all season to find production at second base. They’ve tried Chris Getz, Elliot Johnson, and Johnny Giavotella at the keystone with 39-year-old Miguel Tejada as nothing more than an occasional fill-in. That is until Chris Getz injured his left knee July 27. Since that time, Tejada has been a fixture in the Royals lineup.  He’s...

Drunk Kansas City Royals fan takes swim in Kauffman Stadium fountain (PICS)

Raise your hand if you were excited about the Minnesota Twins-Kansas City Royals tilt last night.  21,000 were treated to a 13-0 drubbing that was over after the Royals put a six-spot on the board in the second inning. This classy Royals fan decided she didn’t need to stick around for all nine innings of Jeremy Guthrie’s shutout, so she took a dip in the Kauffman Stadium fountain...

Royals so hot female Fan jumps in Fountains to Cool Off

by John Viril— One downside of winning 11 of your last 12 is that everyone wants to become part of the show. Since Kansas City hasn’t been in a pennant race since 2003, I suppose the fans at Kauffman Stadium don’t have much practice in how to deal with winning. Take a hint from all-time NFL touchdown leader Jerry Rice, “Try to look like you’ve been there before...

Duffy will take Davis' spot in rotation Wednesday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Royals fans have been waiting (begging?) for the return of left-hander Danny Duffy, and their long wait will end Wednesday night when Duffy will make his first start in over a year for the Royals against the Minnesota Twins. Duffy has been rehabbing from Tommy John surgery he underwent last June. He hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May 13, 2012, when...

Royals' Salvador Perez to undergo further concussion testing

The scene at Citi Field during the 12th inning of the Kansas City Royals 4-3 victory over the New York Mets on Saturday night, was anything but enjoyable for catcher Salvador Perez. Despite staying in for the...

Well hey now that trade-deadline move Wednesday to acquire outfielder Justin Maxwell from Houston suddenly seems like a bigger deal doesn’t it?
