The future of right handed pitcher Zack Greinke is still unknown. The Brewers would like to keep him long-term, but if they're unable to sign him to a multi-year contract and if the Brewers become seller, they will probably deal him.
Yesterday, we learned that the Angels, Rangers, Orioles and Braves are among the teams interested in Greinke, and according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports, his former team, the Royals would like to bring him back if he hits free agency.
The Royals are trying to add a couple of impact starting pitchers via free agency over the next couple of years, as Heyman points out, Greinke “would be a great start.”
Greinke, 28, is 9-3 with a 3.32 ERA, 0.4 HR/9, 2.1 BB/9 and 9.0 SO/9 in 111.0 innings with the Brewers this season.
