ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. | Time ran out Wednesday morning on the Royals' willingness to wait for right-hander Kyle Davies to develop into a reliable starting pitcher. The Royals requested unconditional release waivers on Davies, 27, in order to clear space on their 40-man roster for the arrival of catcher Salvador Perez from Class AAA Omaha.
