While they've been under .500 since early April, the Kansas City Royals are hoping to get back to the break-even mark by the All-Star game. If their recent efforts are any indication, they may actually be able to do just that. The visiting Royals try for a season best-tying fourth consecutive win in the opener of a four-game set with the AL-worst Minnesota Twins on Friday night. Kansas City (34-39) has gone 31-25 in its last 56 games, but a 12-game skid in the opening month has been difficult to overcome as the club tries to get back to .500. The Royals haven't been closer than within five games of that mark. That could change Friday as they surge into the weekend having won 10 of 15 after completing a three-game sweep of Tampa Bay. The Royals hit .340 overall and .455 with runners in scoring position versus the Rays, scoring 21 runs and hitting six homers.
