With the first of September came a flurry of roster moves.
The Red Sox announced a number of moves before Sunday’s game against the White Sox. Boston has added pitcher Rubby De La Rosa, outfielder Quintin Berry, catcher Ryan Lavarnway and infielders Brandon Snyder and John McDonald.
De La Rosa and Lavarnway were recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket. Berry was selected to the active roster from Pawtucket, and the Red Sox designated pitcher Daniel Bard for assignment in a corresponding roster move to make room for the outfielder on the 40-man roster. Snyder, meanwhile, was activated from the 15-day disabled list, while McDonald, who was acquired from the Phillies on Saturday, was added to the active roster.
The Red Sox also transferred catcher Christian Vazquez‘s option from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Got all that? The Red Sox’ active roster now stands at 30 players after Sunday’s moves.
