Ryan Sweeney has been activated from the 7 day concussion DL today, after missing 8 days. Outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin was optioned to Pawtucket to make room for Sweeney. Sweeney sustained a concussion after making a spectacular catch against the Phillies a week ago.
So far this season, Sweeney is hitting .311/.341/.443 this season. Before his injury, he was leading off for the Red Sox and the Sox will be glad to have him back, to say the least. His addition makes the Red Sox feel a lot better about the condition of the outfield, as now it is much stronger.

Your Morning Dump...where Pedroia should be OK
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Rays Return the Favor and Get To Our Closer
Clay Buchholz took the mound for the Sox and probably had his best outing to date, however this time the Rays had the late inning rally against our closer and took the win.
Clay pitched well and left the game in line for a win. Buchholz gave up his first run in the 4th inning with a Zobrist RBI ground out with Joyce on 3rd. Clay didn't give up his 2nd run until the 7th...
Epstein says Cubs 'clearly better than this'
Theo Epstein expected some rough stretches for the Chicago Cubs. He didn't envision this.
