(Photo: Thearon W. Henderson, Getty Images) Just when San Francisco Giants pitcher, Ryan Vogelsong, was having his best start in seven outings, he was struck by a Craig Stammen’s pitch and broke his throwing hand in the bottom of the fifth inning, Monday night against Washington Nationals.  Vogelsong was cruising through the first five innings, pitching a shutout before the incident occurred.  The Giants did manage to score eight runs tonight giving Vogelsong his first win since April 11. courtesy of CSNBAYAREA.com Ryan Vogelsong’s wife Nicole, has been a spokesperson for her husband as she sent out a tweet stating: Ryan has a dislocated joint in the pinky finger of his pitching hand. It’s broken above & below finger. Surgery tomorrow, out 6 weeks. — Nicole Vogelsong (@nicolevogelsong) May 21, 2013 “That’s the best I’ve felt in a long time, just from a mental aspect, from a physical aspect — everything,” Vogelsong said “It was nice to get out there and have everything I’ve been working on fall into place.” Vogelsong’s injury is misfortunate because he finally looked like his old self.  Hopefully this injury will not keep him out no longer than the usual 6-8 weeks.  Giants are one game back behind the Arizona Diamonbacks in the NL West.   Follow us on Twitter KCMAC38@kcmac38 Follow us on Twitter @rbts_baseball   The post Ryan Vogelsong Fractures Right Hand appeared first on Reading Between The Seams.
