The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar from Triple-A Columbus and have optioned right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet to Columbus. Salazar, 23, will be making his Major League debut in a start today vs. the Toronto Blue Jays. He has split the 2013 season between AA Akron and AAA Columbus where he has gone a combined 5-5 with a 3.08 ERA in 17 starts (76.0IP, 61H, 26ER, 4HR, 23BB, 100K, .221AVG).  He has fanned 11.8 batters per 9.0IP, owns a strikeout to walk ratio of 4.35 and leads all Indians farmhands with 100 punch outs. After beginning the season at Akron (2-3, 2.67ERA, 7GS) he has posted a mark of 3-2 with a 3.40 ERA in 10 starts for the Clippers (42.1IP, 34H, 16ER, 13BB, 49K), is coming off Indians Minor League Player of the Week honors (10.0IP, 3H, 0R, 1BB, 10K) and hasn’t yielded an earned run over his last 16.0 innings.  Originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by Cleveland in 2006, Salazar entered the 2013 season...
