Sanchez heading back to DL? (Photo by Scott Cunningham/Getty Images)
According to a tweet from Giants beat writer Andy Baggarly, it looks like the San Francisco Giants are going to place left-hander Jonathan Sanchez back on the disabled list today.
Sanchez, who recently spent three weeks on the DL with left biceps tendinitis, rolled his ankle while fielding a bunt in last night’s game.
Apparently, the Giants have recalled 24-year old Waldis Joaquin from Triple-A Fresno. The right-hander has 14 games of big league experience (mostly in 2009). In 30 games at Fresno this year, he is 2-1 with a 3.16 ERA and 1.406 WHIP. He has a 5.3 SO/9 rate and 1.39 SO/BB ratio.
