Found May 23, 2012 on Bacon Sports:

Need proof of why MLB should get rid of pitchers hitting and implement the DH for both leagues? Take a look at Giants Pitcher Santiago Castilla’s putrid attempt at hitting in a game earlier this week vs the Brewers (jump to the 1:02 mark).

That was pretty horrible…but despite looking completely inept at the plate I’m slightly impressed that Casilla fouled a ball off. I also give him props for swinging for the fences (ala Jeremy Burnitz). In the event that he got lucky and got good wood on the ball there’s no doubt that would have been a dinger.

Shout out to D Wizzle’s World for this find.

Giants P Casilla jumps out of batter's box

Here is the video of San Francisco Giants pitcher Santiago Casilla taking an at-bat in the 14th inning last night against the Brewers.Look at how far away he tries to stand from the batter's box. Casilla is not used to hitting at all and he is very scared of getting hit by the pitcher. The fun begins around the 1:05 mark of the video. Here is another at-bat from...

SF Giants pitcher Santiago Casilla doesn't want his at-bat anymore (Video)

Previously on Outside the Boxscore, we showed you a clip of Giants pitcher Santiago Casilla drawing a walk with his unique batting stance. Well, Casilla had to bat during the extra inning affair between the Brewers/Giants and showed again that he doesn't like standing batters box:
Your browser does not support iframes.

Hector Sanchez Powers Giants Over Brewers in Extras

In the first inning of this game, Buster Posey unloaded a monster of a three-run homer into the left field bleachers. It was only the third three-run homer of the season for the Giants (along with zero grand slams), and it was the first in about a month. So Madison Bumgarner took the mound with a three-run lead; and that was supposed to be enough. Because he’s Madison Bumgarner...

Pat Burrell Has A Boob-Grabbing Party Weekend For His Retirement

Pat Burrell came back to the city of Philadelphia this weekend to retire as a Phillie. I’m sure that was a great moment for Pat The Bat, but the highlight for everyone else was his party filled weekend that included this picture above. As stories go, if you believe everything you read on the internet, this lovely fan asked for a picture and Burrell insisted that he would only...

Giants' Cain finally getting run support

There's a verb in Giantsville describing a pitcher who has an excellent game and walks away without a win. It's called Cain. Or the act of getting Cained. Nobody has been Cained more than Matt Cain in recent years, the victim of lousy run support year after year. Well, things are changing. He gave up four runs in each of his past two starts and won them both. The...

Suspects in Giants fan beating face new charges

Federal weapons charges have been filed in Los Angeles against two men accused of brutally assaulting a San Francisco Giants fan at Dodger Stadium during opening day last year. The criminal complaint filed Monday against Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood charges both with being a felon in possession of firearms. If convicted, they each face up to 10 years in federal prison. Several...

SF Giants Rumors: Looking To Sweep, Arias And Posey Go Deep, Just Another Day At The Office For Melky

It’s a series win for the San Francisco Giants, and today they’re looking for their first sweep of the season. Barry Zito (3-1, 3.00 ERA) faces off against the Brewers Marco Estrada (0-3, 4.63 ERA). HR Power Infielder Joaquin Arias hit his first career homer last night, and he wasn’t the only Giants player to leave the yard. Catcher Buster Posey hit a monster shot that hit...

Melky Cabrera guns down runner at the plate

Here is a video of an amazing throw by San Francisco Giants left fielder Melky Cabrera to gun down Norichika Aoki at home plate. This happened last night in Milwaukee where the Giants defeated the Brewers 6-4.The ball hit by Nyjer Morgan to medium left field seemed deep enough to score the speedy Aoki from third base but Aoki and the Brewers underestimated Cabrera's strong arm...

SF Giants Rumors: Ugly Game, Taking His Hacks, Optioned To Fresno, Matchup’s In Miami

I’m sure everyone is glad yesterday’s ugly game against the Brewers is over! The San Francisco Giants did show some heart by scratching and clawing their way back into the game. It just wasn’t enough to take the final game of the series and complete the sweep. Taking Some HacksPablo Sandoval is now taking some swings off a tee in Arizona. Which means his hand must be healing...

Giants 14, Marlins 7

Melky Cabrera had three hits and drove in four runs Thursday for the San Francisco Giants, who gave Ryan Vogelsong robust run support for a change to beat the Miami Marlins 14-7. Vogelsong (3-2) allowed three runs in 6 1-3 innings, which hiked his ERA to 2.50. The Giants had 22 runs in his previous seven starts. The Giants came into the game leading the majors in stranded runners...

Postgame Delirium: When the Busters Come to Town

I had a really good feeling about this game for, roughly, 7 2/3 innings. I can’t remember exactly what changed around that time, but it was fairly traumatic. I understand Bruce Bochy’s decision to leave Madison Bumgarner in the game to face Ryan Braun, especially considering Bumgarner’s dominance up to that point and the fact that he made Braun look silly a couple of times...

Giants 6, Brewers 4

Buster Posey homered off the Miller Park scoreboard and had three RBIs as the San Francisco Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 on Tuesday night. The Giants won for the eighth time in 11 games despite being outhit 11-5. The Brewers went 2-for-13 with runners in scoring position off San Francisco starter Matt Cain (4-2) and have lost six of seven. Cain pitched out of trouble...

Morning Grind: We Sure Could Use Someone Like Angel Pagan In Centerfield Right Now

Alright, I’ve gone too long without a good rant and after a loss like last night’s stinker against the Bucs, today’s as good a day as any. Let me begin with Andres Torres who has stunk up the joint considerably since his hot week after coming off of the disabled list. Torres is now batting .189 on the season and is 4-42 in his last 11 games started – all of them batting...
