Running out of adjectives and adverbs to describe what is happening to the Marlins — slumping, skidding, struggling — no, we need something stronger. Hapless, woeful, awful, terrible, disastrous, delirious, demented.
They’ve fallen off a cliff, imploded, exploded, run into a wall, caved in, crashed and burned. They’ve been crumpled, smashed, squashed, trampled, beaten, battered, hammered. It’s a train wreck, it’s Armageddon, it’s Waterloo, it’s all over.
