Scott Rolen Continues Hot Streak
Posted June 29, 2006 on
Roger_Dorn's Blog:
Scott Rolen's HR and 2-3 effort against the Cleveland Indians tonight pushed his AVG to .346 on the season (10 HR, 50 RBI, 49 R). It's obvious Rolen produces at high levels when healthy, but there was some definite concern regarding his shoulder entering the 2006 season. Was 2004 a fluke? Would his 2005 shoulder injury combined with prior back problems sap his power? It looks like those questions have been answered. His increase in production each month not only suggests he's very much the player he was in '04, but that he's probably healthier now than he has been in a year and a half.
April - .313 AVG, 3 HR, 13 RBI, 9 R
May - .333 AVG, 3 HR, 15 RBI, 20 R
June - .382 AVG, 4 HR, 22 RBI, 20 R
Great news for those of you who were able to snag Rolen at a discount in drafts (not me). I was busy drafting every other '05 injured player who is worse this year than last...Keith Foulke, Eric Gagne, etc.
