Randy Wolf had another solid start, but more trouble on defense and some less-than-airtight bullpen performances led to another Brewers loss, this time a 4-6 defeat by the White Sox. To the notes:

-- Wolf went 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, a walk, and four strikeouts. Wolf was cruising (one hit, one walk, and four punchouts) through four innnings, but hit a snag in the fifth and sixth, allowing all of his runs.

-- Jose Veras followed Wolf, allowing two runs on a single, triple, and sacrifice fly in an inning-and-a-third while striking out two. For your daily reminder on the futility of Spring Training stats, the batters Veras faced:
Jordan Danks, Drew Garcia, Nick Ciolli, Tyler Saladino, Jim Gallagher, and Ray Olmedo.

-- Alex Gonzalez had an excellent day at the plate, getting a walk, single, and homerun in three plate appearances. The thin air of the Cactus League can create all kinds of illusions, but it's good to see Sea Bass swinging the bat well. Of course, while Brewers fans continue to work through Betancourt-related nightmares, anything Gonzalez can provide with the bat is gravy.

-- Norichika Aoki added two hits in three at-bats. Aoki has held his own thus far in camp, showing the speed and contact skills that were expected from him coming out of Japan, even if he hasn't hit for power. A guy that did hit for power today was Aramis Ramirez, who added a homerun and walk in what has been a nice rebound from a slow start to camp.

The Brewers have a pair of split-squad games tomorrow, with one team heading to Surprise to take on the Royals (and Ned Yost) while the other faces the Dodgers at home. Shaun Marcum will make his first Spring start in Surprise.
