During Friday night’s Baltimore Orioles vs. Kansas City Royals game, the dangers of being on a field during a baseball game were apparent when Royals third baseman, Mike Moustakas, collided with a Baltimore Orioles security guard.

Orioles’ Robert Andino hit the fly ball that made Moustakas, left fielder Alex Gordon, and shortstop Alcides Escobar converge to foul territory. Meanwhile, the security guard who had been sitting, tried to get out of the way of the foul ball, only to go directly into the path of Moustakas.

Luckily, neither guy was injured from the incident. However, the security guard is lucky Moustakas is only 6 ft, 210. Could you imagine the results had it been the huge frame of Miguel Cabrera running into him?

Mike Moustakas Taken Out By Security Guard

Kansas City Royal third baseman Mike Moustakas received a rude surprise while running down a foul ball at Oriole Park on Friday, as a Baltimore security guard bumped into Moustakas while attempting to get out of the way. I remains to be seen if Moustakas or any Royal player could have gotten to the ball, however, there is no doubt that the reaction by the Royal color commentator...
PERFECT ROLL

Hosmer legs out a rare infield double

Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer hit a rare infield double in the seventh inning of Saturday's game at Camden Yards against the Baltimore Orioles. Hosmer chopped a slow grounder down the third base line that looked like it might roll foul. Orioles catcher Matt Weiters, pitcher Darren O'Day and third baseman Wilson Betemit all chose to watch the ball roll down...

2012 Fantasy Baseball AL-Only Waiver Wire, Week 8: Wil Myers Gunning For The Show

Wil Myers (credits below) It’s that point in the season again. Your fantasy team is becoming a little stagnant and you need to make a little push, but you can’t afford to make a trade. In AL or NL-Only leagues, the waiver wires are so thin that it’s nearly impossible to make a huge claim for a guy whose already in the majors and will make a big difference. That’s why you...

“Our Time” to the trash can

The Kansas City Royals failed at their pre-season pitch to their hometown faithful of the fact that this is truly the time the Royals will start winning.  Along with the rest of the fans around the midwest I drank the Kool-Aid and believed that this could be our year.  Now that being said this team is still going to win ballgames this season and at times will show glimpses of what...

Francoeur, Butler homer in Royals win

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Jeff Francoeur had a terrific weekend, and the notoriously streaky hitter hopes the rest of the Royals will follow his success. Francoeur had two more hits on Sunday, including a go-ahead home run, and Kansas City beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-2. Francoeur finished 7 for 12 in the three-game series. In his last 14 games, he is batting .379 with all five of his...

GIFcap: Orioles Security Sets A Pick On Mike Moustakas + Hunter Pence Is Awkward

Found out why the Orioles are in first place, as even their security guards assist the team, like this one here taking Mike Moustakas out of the play and hobbling him temporarily. Genius. Honestly, this is the perfect Hunter Pence GIF, isn’t it? Everything he does is awkward, and him losing the ball in the

Royals 4, Orioles 2

Jeff Francoeur and Billy Butler hit home runs, and Alcides Escobar had two hits to lead the Kansas City Royals over the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 on Sunday. Francoeur had a terrific series, hitting 7 for 12 against the Orioles, including two homers. Butler had home runs in successive games for the Royals, who won two consecutive games for the first time since a four-game winning streak...

Paulino Solid in a Shaky Rotation

Felipe Paulino has pitched 150 innings as a member of the Kansas City Royals. In that time, his record is just 6-7, but he has compiled a 3.66 ERA with 148 strikeouts in 24 starts and one relief appearance. By Royals' standards, and even major league standards, his ERA and other pitching statistics are impressive considering the American League is known for its hitting...
