According to the Associated Press, Commissioner Bud Selig stated that he expects the expanded playoffs to take effect this upcoming season. Under the new CBA that was already agreed upon back in November, the playoffs would expand into a 10-team bracket, but the remaining question has been whether the new postseason would take effect this year or in 2013. I admit that I love Theo Epstein. I look forward to having lunch with Jed Hoyer in a couple weeks, and I am fully prepared to share my thoughts on Matt Garza. It won’t be any different than my conversation with Tim Wiliken 3 days after Matt Garza was traded as I was against it then, and will be against hanging on to him.
