The San Francisco Giants have signed LHP Javier Lopez to a two-year, $8.5 million ($4.25 in 2012 and $4.25 in 2013) contract. They have also exercised LHP Jeremy Affeldt‘s $5 million option. These are two must have bullpen guys for the Giants to continue their success of holding teams from the starting pitching to the closer.
It’s speculated that the Giants are going to aggressively pursue Carlos Beltran. The good news is they won’t have to deal with big-time agent Scott Boras. Beltran has fired Boras and is going with agent Dan Lozano. Lozano is Albert Pujols and Jimmy Rollins agent. Is anyone thinking a possible triple signing for the Giants? It’s okay to have wishful thinking.
