Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com says San Francisco Giants GM Brian Sabean can guarantee that Hunter Pence will be with the Giants in 2013. However, Sabean can’t make the same guarantee for Brian Wilson. “Pence is going to be coming back,” said Sabean. “We think there are some things he can do to fix what went wrong this year. We like the player. We made a big trade to get him, and he’s going to be a Giant next year.”Wilson isn’t expected to be ready by the start of the 2013 season. In fact, probably not till the middle of the season. If the Giants decide to non-tender him. Wilson will become a free agent.I’m speculating that Wilson and the team will reach some kind of deal to keep him in the Giants organization and not pay another $8.5 million for a player that likely won’t sniff the field till the 2nd half of the season.Jaymee Sire of CSNBayArea.com says (via Twitter) Manny Burriss has been outright to Fresno. Sire also says Clay Hensley was outright as well, but he declined. Which mean...

SF Giants Rumors: Teams Interested In Belt, Affeldt Looking for 3-Years, Another Posey Award

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com says (via Twitter) the San Francisco Giants have been receiving calls  from teams inquiring about Brandon Belt. They don’t seem inclined to trade Belt, and say their goals are to re-sign Angel Pagan, Marco Scutaro and try to retain Jeremy Affeldt.   Bob Nightengale of USA Today says (via Twitter) the Giants are confident they will be able to resign...

SF Giants Rumors: Wilson Decision Looms, Romo Stat, Whiteside Gone, Posey Award, Cabrera Money

With the World Series win still fresh on most fans minds. It’s now time for the San Francisco Giants front office to start focusing on 2013.   It’s going to be a big decision for them to decide if Brian Wilson should be offered arbitration or non-tender him. Wilson made $8.5 million in 2012. The Giants could be considering a deal that doesn’t guarantee as much for 2013 but...

Baseball Prospectus Profiles Giants CF Prospect Gary Brown

Gary Brown is one of the Giants top prospects, and is the potential center fielder of the future. After destroying pitching in High A San Jose, he ran into a bit of a wall in AA Richmond.  This morning Baseball Prospectus has him as their prospect profile (for free!). It's a nice little glimpse into what has been going on with him if you haven't been following his...

Giants Fan Dies After Being Beaten During Celebration for Team’s World Series Win

San Francisco Giants fans got rowdy following their team’s World Series win over the Detroit Tigers, and at least one fan has lost his life in the aftermath. CBS San Francisco reports that 37-year-old Sean Moffitt has passed away, due to injuries he suffered during Giants fans’ celebration of last week’s world championship. Giants fans took to the streets following the decisive...

Ashkon releases 2012 San Francisco Giants World Series tribute song, "We Are The Champions" (Video)

Although the World Series is behind us, that doesn't mean there is a shortage of musical tributes done by San Francisco Giants fans. In case you forgot, singer Ashkon became a viral sensation in 2010 for his remaking of "Don't Stop Believing" for the Giants World Series run against the Texas Rangers. Now, here is his 2012 version using "We Are the Champions...

It’s The Ultimate Reclamation Project

It’s the small moves that make a season and a team. I admit, when the Giants picked up Ryan Vogelsong, I thought it was to sell tickets in Fresno.  I was wrong. When the Giants found Pat Burrell on the scrap heap, I expected it to be a non-factor in anything.  Nope. Cody Ross?  It seemed like sacrificing a roster spot to stop a rival.  Well, not just. Marco Scutaro?  A fine...

Jeff Kent gets booted from Survivor, is a sore loser, mad at Barack Obama

I don't think I've seen an episode of Survivor since the days Elizabeth Hasselbeck wasn't a Hasselbeck.  That's been about 63 seasons ago and somehow the show is still around.  Evidently, former San Francisco Giants second basemen Jeff Kent was booted off the island last night and was none too pleased.  While you can watch the entire tribal council thingy here...

Phillies Player Review: Domonic Brown

Domonic Brown needs to step up. With Hunter Pence now in San Francisco and no one stepping in to take the full-time left field job in 2012, the Phillies are now desperately in need of two corner outfielders. Add on top of that the fact that, through the last four seasons, Ruben Amaro Jr. has traded away a boatload of offensive talent, all while refusing to budge on Brown, and the...
