If you missed last night’s game, let me give you the quick breakdown. I’ll fast forward to the top of the 9th inning. The San Francisco Giants were down 1-0 when Angel Pagan got a hit to knock out Trevor Cahill. The D-Backs went to their closer (possibly ex-closer now) J.J. Putz, who was able to strike out Marco Scutaro. However, he couldn’t do the same to Pablo Sandoval. The Great Pandino hit one that probably hasn’t landed yet to give the Giants a 2-1 lead. Sergio Romo hurried through his warm-ups and came in to close the door in the bottom of the 9th for his 10th save of the year.
The Great Pandino
Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com says (via Twitter) Sandoval told Hunter Pence on his way to the plate that he was “gonna click one.” So he called his shot? “Pretty much,” said Pence. That’s another reason why SF Giants Rumors is calling him “The Great Pandino”!

Another game, another magical comeback for the San Francisco Giants! This time it was a 3-run homer by Brandon Belt in the top of the 8th inning to give the Giants a 7-6 lead. They then tacked on 2 more runs in the 9th, and Sergio Romo secured the victory by picking up his 11th save of the season.
Lincecum Day = Win
The Freak, Tim Lincecum...
On Friday, May 3, the San Francisco Giants will pay tribute to some of the great city’s favorite sons, Metallica, with a tribute night at AT&T Park. While Metallica technically was formed in Los Angeles in 1981, the band relocated to San Francisco Bay Area early on at the request of bassist Cliff Burton (the more you know). As part of the buildup to the festivities, Giants...
While the San Francisco Giants were able to manage a 6-4 win in Arizona against the Diamondbacks Monday night, it was reliever Jean Machi who earned his first win of 2013, instead of the Giant’s starter and resident staff ace Matt Cain.
Once again Cain wasn’t a factor in
On Friday night the San Francisco Giants will hold Meteallica Night. Prior to the event starting pitcher Barry Zito, a musician himself, met the band and got the chance to perform with them.
The session started off with Zito accompanying the band on “Fade to the Black,” from their second LP Ride the Lightning.
Ironically it will be Zito on the mound tomorrow night. This year...
Cain Ain’t Able

For years Matt Cain has defied logic. Despite being a flyball pitcher with a mediocre batted ball profile and mediocre swing-and-miss ability, Cain has been one of the most reliable aces in fantasy baseball for a few years now. I don’t think I’ve ever owned him in a league, mostly because the price was too high considering...
San Francisco is the hometown of Metallica so it makes perfect sense that AT&T Park honor the infamous rock band. On Friday, May 3rd it will be “Metallica Night” before the San Francisco Giants take on the rival Los Angeles Dodgers. The members of Metallica will throw out the first pitch as well as perform the National Anthem. However Giants pitcher Barry Zito got to celebrate...
PHOENIX -- Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run homer with one out in the top of the ninth inning and the San Francisco Giants rallied to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Arizona starter Trevor Cahill left after allowing a leadoff single to Angel Pagan, the Giants' fourth hit against the right-hander. J.J. Putz (2-1) came on for Arizona and struck out Marco Scutaro...
PHOENIX (AP) -- Brandon Belt hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning and the San Francisco Giants rallied against the Arizona bullpen for the third straight game, beating the Diamondbacks 9-6 Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep.
Belt hit a two-run single off Brad Ziegler in the opener, and Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run homer off closer J.J. Putz on Tuesday. Belt finished...
Pitching, pitching, and more pitching. That was supposed to be the key to success for the San Francisco Giants this season. Since the post-Bonds renaissance began in 2009, an era that has already brought the city of San Francisco two world titles, the team’s calling card has been pitching and defense first. In the last four seasons, two of which saw the team win the World Series...
PHOENIX The Diamondbacks spent the offseason fortifying their bullpen, which has made its early struggles even more mystifying.
The D-backs suffered their major league-high 10th failed save conversion when closer J.J. Putz gave up a two-run home run to Pablo Sandoval for a 2-1 San Francisco victory at Chase Field on Tuesday.
Sandoval hit a split-finger pitch that stayed up in...
The Giants are certainly a confusing team in 2013, but wins are wins. Brandon Belt was the hero of Tuesday evening, launching an eighth inning homerun to turn the tables on the Diamondbacks, granting the Giants a 9-6 win.
A shaky start by Tim Lincecum will surely raise more doubts about his future in San Francisco, but at least the bats are alive and well for the Black and Orange...

Seriously, did Pablo Sandoval bring the Warriors a Giants-trademarked version of “Torture” or what?
Right now, I’m sure the Spurs are licking their chops at how the Warriors absolutely fell apart in the face of pressure, simple double-teams and pretty much any ballhandling that involved Jarrett Jack and not Stephen Curry. At least the Warriors have a few days to figure out...
While the Giants turn to Madison Bumgarner as he tries to continue his strong start, they also hope star third baseman Pablo Sandoval has not aggravated an injury that nagged him during spring training.
With Sandoval's status uncertain, Bumgarner will try to help the visiting Giants build on their first victory in a week when he takes the mound Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks...
