Credit: Steven Robles – SF Giants Rumors Yesterday Andres Torres was placed on the DL with a left Achilles strain, and pitcher Mike Kickham was sent back down to the Fresno Grizzlies. The counter moves were bringing up outfielder Francisco Peguero and infielder Nick Noonan.   Manager Bruce Bochy said the plan for now is for Barry Zito to make the next start, so Zito will remain in the starting rotation for now, says Alex Pavlovic (via Twitter).   Last night’s starting pitcher Matt Cain got drilled by a screaming line drive right back at him. He was removed from the game after getting hit on his right forearm. He has a contusion, and the X-rays came back negative. It’s very likely that he’ll skip his next start in the rotation.
