Photo Courtesy of Jesse Montellano This road trip couldn’t have come any sooner. I’m sure the San Francisco Giants are excited to hit the road and get a fresh start after the tough homestand (10 games, 3-7). The Major League ERA leader Ryan Vogelsong (2.22) looks to get the Giants back on track as he faces ex-Giant Jonathan Sanchez tonight.   The hottest bat in the Giants lineup right now is Buster Posey. He has 19 RBI since the All Star break. That has him tied for the 2nd most in the National League. I expect him to keep the RBI’s rolling in Colorado this weekend. Melky Cabrera had another multiple hit game by going 3-for-4 in the Giants loss to the Mets. It’s Cabrera’s 48th multi-hit game of the season. Hunter Pence is 0-for-6 so far in a Giants uniform. However, he does have his first RBI under his belt. Maybe the thin air in Colorado will help jump start his bat for the Orange and Black. Okay, maybe we need the thin air to jump start the teams bats! Don’t forget to go to the ...

Buster Posey’s Having A Really Good Season

…and with that, I’ve fulfilled my obvious headline quota for the week. Buster Posey put up a strong first half, hitting .289/.362/.458 across 312 plate appearances. His performance was good enough to earn him his first career all-star nod. But Buster Posey has been on absolute tear in the second half of the season. Among players with at least 30 at-bats since the all-star break...

SF Giants Rumors: Pence To Make His Giants Debut Tonight

Tonight is the night that Hunter Pence will make his San Francisco Giants debut. He will be wearing number 8, playing right field and batting 5th in the lineup. It’s sure nice to know there will be some pop to help strengthen the middle of the lineup. Pence is not stranger to hitting in San Francisco. In 20 games played at AT&T Park, Pence is hitting .329 with 5 homers and...

VIDEO: Hunter Pence Arriving in San Fran, Everyone Always Loves the “New Guy”

Everyone always loves the new guy, until he has to catch a line drive in the gap. Ha. But seriously, that video was really cool.   Via: The School Philly

Opposite Field: Melky Cabrera Like A Boss

Who amongst us has a boss who seemed undeserving of the praise and a chance to punch the coin box. Many of you may feel your boss seemed to achieve his position based on some reasoning other than actual performance. Perhaps he took credit for others performances. Maybe it was due to the fact that every time he did do something right the right people were looking. Maybe his mistakes...

SF Giants Rumors: Posey, Scutaro, Pence And Roster Shuffle

The San Francisco Giants were dodging bullets all night, but it didn’t matter either way. Their offense wasn’t able to get anything started against Mets pitcher Jonathon Niese. Today is the final game of the 4 game set with the Mets. The G-Men have won 7 of their last 11 against the Mets at AT&T Park, so let’s hope they can get the win today to split the 4-game set. The...

Visit to Coors Field might be just what Giants need

The San Francisco Giants have lost seven of eight. They're 0-2 in the Hunter Pence era. In his two games, they've collected seven hits, including four in Thursday's 9-1 loss to the New York Mets. "We've been awful this past week," manager Bruce Bochy said. "We get in these funks, they're not fun. We're in a rut right now. We're not swinging...

Giants 16, Rockies 4

Ryan Vogelsong pitched into the seventh inning, Buster Posey homered among his four hits and the San Francisco Giants broke out of an offensive slump to beat the Colorado Rockies 16-4 on Friday. Brett Pill also went deep and Angel Pagan had three hits and scored four runs for the Giants, who had lost seven of their past eight. Wilin Rosario homered for the Rockies, who have lost...

Where do the Phillies go from here?

So what exactly is the plan for the Philadelphia Phillies now? They went all out to sign Cole Hamels to a monster contract and then gutted their already anemic lineup by sending out Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence.  Say what you want about the trades themselves, but the overall strategy was a bold one from GM Ruben Amaro to keep a major asset while cashing out on some lesser...

Evaluating the Philadelphia Phillies trades

The trade deadline as come and go and the Philadelphia Phillies proved to be sellers instead of buyers.  On this episode of Ground Rule Radio, T- Money and Joey Mac Daddy discuss the trades of Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence as well as taking a look at the various trades around the majors.  Also discussed: The Umpire that ejected the PA Announcer (seriously?)Words of wisdom...

The High Asking Prices For Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino

Buster Olney had the following update this morning about the asking price for Hunter Pence to the Pittsburgh Pirates (h/t to Bucs Dugout): All the way up to July 30th, Philadelphia’s asking price on Hunter Pence for Pirates was Starling Marte, Lincoln and more. Pretty pricey. — Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) August 2, 2012 With that type of return, I’d imagine there was also...

Mets 2, Giants 1

SAN FRANCISCO -- The fans came to AT&T Park to see Hunter Pence's San Francisco Giants debut, but instead Ruben Tejada and Jonathon Niese stole the show Wednesday. Tejada's game-opening homer and Niese's seven strong innings helped the New York Mets take a 2-1 victory to ensure at least a split of the four-game series. The teams play again Thursday afternoon. ...

Giants-Rockies Preview

After dropping seven of eight to conclude a homestand, the San Francisco Giants are looking forward to getting out of town. What appears to be a favorable matchup against a former teammate could help them get back on track. The Giants will take their swings against the Colorado Rockies' Jonathan Sanchez, who tries to avoid losing a career-worst sixth consecutive start Friday...
