Hall of Very Good:
With the World Baseball Classic just around the corner, it is kinda cool to see how the rosters are shaping up.That said, the South Koreans shook things up Wednesday by dropping one of their most popular players. This coming just weeks after the newly inked Los Angeles Dodgers hurler Hyun-Jin Ryu announced he would not be participating.Outfielder Shin-Soo Choo, recently acquired by the Cincinnati Reds from the Cleveland Indians, asked to leave the team so he could, like Ryu, concentrate on preparing for life with his new club. However, the guy replacing Choo is no slouch.Taking his spot will be A-Seop Son from the Lotte Giants. The 24-year-old led the Korean Baseball Organization league in hits with 158 in 132 games and was third in batting average with .314.The World Baseball Classic gets underway March 2.

Seth Mejias-Brean was not in the Reds system when the year began, but joined the organization after being drafted in 2012. The Reds sent him to Billings where he helped lead the Mustangs offense.
The Reds didn’t sign Mejias-Brean immediately, but he was ready to go by the time July rolled around. And was he ever ready to go. In 22 games on the month he went out and hit .388/.454...
When the news broke of Ryan Freel’s suicide last week, it made for a very sad evening at the RHM household. During Freel’s time with the Cincinnati Reds, he was the most entertaining athlete on the field and a joy to watch. The news of his passing just before Christmas was difficult to handle.
Some good news has come out of the tragedy, though. The Reds fan forum RedsZone has...
December 26, 1995 - The Reds deal southpaw David "Boomer" Wells to Baltimore less than five months after acquiring him at the trade deadline from Detroit. Cincinnati receives outfielder Curtis Goodwin and prospect Trovin Valdez in return. Needless to say, the Reds end up getting stuck with the short end of the stick.
Goodwin plays just two seasons with the Reds and...

Pretty much all of the media and Vegas doesn’t have the Reds as the No. 1-ranked team in the league despite fixing all of its holes and winning 97 games in spite of those holes last season. I really disagree with that, so I’m going to do a 5-part series comparing the Reds to each team I’ve seen ranked ahead of them.
With the holidays I got a little behind on the news and notes portion of things. So, here is a quick rundown of what I missed over the last week.
Mason Felt is expected to make a full recovery from his car accident related injuries. He was already recovering from Tommy John surgery, so with this, he may not be back for 2013 but he ix expected to come back and recover fully and that...

OCTOBER 21, 1976 – The Cincinnati Reds, behind Johnny Bench’s two home runs, finish off the New York Yankees for their second straight World Championship. During the post-game celebration, Reds President and GM Bob Howsam made a profound statement to the media. With the advent of free agency he did not know how he would have the ability to keep...
