Boo Josh Hamilton or cheer Josh Hamilton when the Los Angeles Angels come to Arlington Friday? Thats a question a lot of people want to know the answer to. But theres another option out there too. Its the Silence for Josh campaign, who sprang to life in the wake of Hamiltons spring training comments that Dallas wasnt a baseball town. Apparently its a pretty big movement too. Theres a Silence for Josh Twitter account (@silence4Josh) that has more than 2,600 followers. Theres a Facebook page with around 8,000 likes. And theres also a Web site that has an official store for all your Silence for Josh needs. The biggest seller on the site? A t-shirt that says "Baseball Town Since 1972", which is a reference to Hamiltons comments. Of course the Rangers dont play their games in Dallas, but thats just a minor detail. Nearly 1,500 of the shirts have been sold. "We started the Twitter site the day after Josh made the comments," said Arlington resident Brad Holmes, who started the site along with his 15-year-old brother Brandon. "We saw an opportunity after Josh said those things. The response weve had has been pretty overwhelming and crazy. Weve packed almost 1,000 packages of shirts to mail out the next morning." The approach for the Silence for Josh movement is a simple one. Hamilton has said he expects to get booed when he returns to Arlington, unless he means Dallas. The Silence for Joshers dont want to give him satisfaction of the boos. Theyd rather their silence speak for them. Dont make a sound. Spread the word, it says on the Twitter page. Well know this weekend if the movement is working.

Hamilton: 'Texas is home. I love Texas'

Josh Hamilton will return to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Friday for the first time since signing with the Los Angeles Angels. The 2010 American League MVP still calls Texas home, however, Rangers fans probably won't be giving him a warm homecoming welcome when he comes up to bat. Hamilton was a guest on the Mike & Mike in the Morning radio show Monday on 103.3 in Dallas...

Josh Hamilton still a fan favorite in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI Josh Hamilton keeps running into fans around his Cincinnati hotel the last couple of days and they convey the same message to him.We wish you still played for the Cincinnati Reds, they tell him.He smiles and answers back, Then why did you trade me?The fans didnt trade him, it was the Reds, the team that rescued him from a life filled with syringes and drug-induced lost...

Peter Bourjos Player Profile & Projections

(Photo by Jeremy Long - jlongphoto.com) By Robert Cunningham, AngelsWin.com Staff Writer 2013 Outlook: Bourjos has been a very polarizing figure among Angels fans. Some point to his 2012 season as an indicator of his true offensive performance level while others look at his 2011 breakout season and feel that reflects his true aptitude. C.J. Wilson's tips to dating a supermodel

Former Texas Rangers starting pitcher C.J. Wilson has a really tough life. He signed a five-year, 77.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels in 2011 and he has a supermodel girlfriend. Sounds like he hit the lottery twice. Wilson, who was usually a great quote when he was playing in Texas, recently gave SI.com an interesting interview about his Brazilian supermodel girlfriend...

The Angels could be looking at another rough April

An 8-15 month of April to start the sunk the 2012 Angels, or at least that is how the narrative goes. It was a month where just about everything went for the Halos including Albert Pujols' infamous homer drought and the Bullpen of Sorrow blowing every lead they could, sometimes blowing it twice, just to make sure it was good and blown. That month was a particularly brutal...

New-look Angels provide unique Cincinnati opener

Josh Hamilton is back where it all started. The outfielder got a standing ovation for his pinch-hit appearance at Great American Ball Park on opening day 2007, a moment that completed his comeback from years of drug abuse. He'll get another grand introduction on Monday when his new team, the Los Angeles Angels, opens against the Reds. It'll feel a bit like home. '...

What might an extension look like for Mike Trout?

If there's one thing we learned from this weekend's extension bonanza, it's that we are not going to see too many franchise players hit the free agent market anymore. There will be some big names and such out there still, but the Buster Posey's, the Justin Verlander's, and the like are going to be locked up long before they end up on the free agent market, leaving...

New Jersey radio station to air Angels games because of Mike Trout

This may be a first: a southern New Jersey radio station will be airing all 162 Los Angeles Angels games this year because of the local popularity of Mike Trout. Via USA Today: "WSNJ-AM 1240 will broadcast all 162 Los Angeles Angels games after reaching an agreement with Major League Baseball and the Angels to re-broadcast KLAA-AM's feed from Anaheim. The station...

The Monkey predicts the 2013 Angels season

One of my favorite posts to write each year is my official predictions for the season (as opposed to my unofficial predictions, which don't exist). I love the post despite the fact that I am generally quite horrible at predicting things. Don't believe me? Well, if the court allows, allow me to enter into evidence the following predictions I made last season that went horribly...

Johnny Manziel to throw out first pitch at Sunday’s Angels vs Rangers game

Johnny Manziel will be throwing out the first pitch at Sunday, April 7th's Texas Rangers vs Los Angeles Angels game. Because he is Johnny Manziel.

Dumpster Fire in the 9th, Angels lose to Reds 5-4

Sure the game ended in as miserable, shocking, and abrupt fashion as you could expect. But one can give the Halos some props in this game.   They have overcome a tepid 2-26 from the three players who got their own special press conference at the outset of Spring Training to remain competitive in games 1 and 2 of the season. (Oh, and just a hint, their last names begin...

Houston Astros Are the Best Team in Baseball—At Least for One Night: Expectations are low for the Houston Astros in 2013, but for at least a night they are the best team in baseball. Your browser does not support iframes. The game was the only game of the night; the official opener for the 2013 season making it quite likely that baseball fans eager to get their...
