According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, the Indians must decide within three days of the conclusion of the World Series whether or not to exercise the options for CF Grady Sizemore and RHP Fausto Carmona, or buy them out and let them become free agents. The 29 year old Sizemore just concluded a six year, $23.45 million contract he signed with the Indians in March, 2006. The Indians hold an $8.5 million option for 2012 with a $500,000 buyout. He’s played in just 210 games since 2009 and has hit just .234 with 28 home runs and 109 RBI over that span. He had micro-fracture surgery on his left knee in 2010 which required him to miss half of the 2010 and 2011 season, and recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on that same knee, but is expected to be ready for Spring Training.
