Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Derrek Lee was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh with lingering soreness in his hand.
Lee had sat out four games after he was hit by a pitch in the hand. He returned to the lineup Monday and had a hit in each of the last two games.
Acquired from Baltimore at the trade deadline, Lee is 5-for-18 with a pair of homers in five games for the reeling Pirates, who have lost 11 of 12 games to fall out of contention in the National League Central.
