(The Associated Press) The Red Sox were dominated by Rays starting pitching again tonight and took their second loss of a four-game series against their division rivals. Matt Moore hurled a complete game Monday night, merely allowing two hits and no runs. David Price had his turn and added to the domination of the Sox lineup, throwing another nine-innings and allowing fives hits and only one run on 97-pitches. I'm telling you folks...this lineup needs a bat and they need it quick. This is the exact sort of pitching they will be facing in the playoffs. For the most part, every playoff contener has a one-two punch; and man do these Rays have a solid combo. On a bright note, Felix Doubront was pretty solid. He had one rough inning in the third allowing all of his three runs. But other than that, not bad for a number four starter against a top division rival. Doubront finished the evening going six and two-thirds innings while allowing six hits, three earned runs, two walks. He also struck out five and totaled 104 pitches. Clearly the Sox' offense could do much tonight against Price. Mike Napoli and the lone RBI in the seventh inning and that's pretty much it. I know he's the ninth hitter and never had high expectations, but it's worth noting...Since the All-Star Break, Jose Iglesias is 3-21 (.142). Time to sit him down for a game or two? The Sox and Rays wrap up this four game series tomorrow night. John Lackey takes the mound for the hometeam, while Jeremy Hellickson counters for the Rays. First pitch is at 7:10pm.
