The St. Louis Cardinals are in desperate need of gaining some stability in a starting rotation that can not seem to stay healthy. John Gast was the latest victim over the weekend and was placed on the disabled list with a sore shoulder, leaving the Cardinals searching for another option. For now, the Cardinals are settling on sending Carlos Martinez down to Triple-A Memphis and have recalled reliever Victor Marte. The move has been made likely in attempt to get Martinez some starts and have him stretched out and possibly take a role in the Cardinals rotation soon.
