St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds prediction Fri., 7/15: Can Andre Pallante shut down Joey Votto and the Reds?

The best way to celebrate a Friday is by gambling. There isn't even a close second when it comes to this. I happen to celebrate every Friday so I definitely know what I'm talking about. You can trust me on this. The thing about Fridays are, it's best to kick it up a notch with your gambling. What I mean by that is you want to find a bet that has a zero percent chance of losing. It's almost exactly like what we do every other day of the week. Lucky for us, the people at DraftKings gave us what many are calling "the gift of the century." I don't know if it's true or not because I haven't seen all of the gifts that have been given this century, but I can say this is better than any gift I've ever seen. In any century. No chance of this loss happening on today's MLB slate.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction

Who even is this guy Andre Pallante? I did some digging and I think he could be one of our guys. Not quite a Circle of Trust guy, but a guy nonetheless. The thing I like most about him is that he isn't a showoff. He doesn't go out there and strike everybody out. He knows if he did that the books would make his number so high we couldn't even bet on him. At the moment, he's a 42 strikeout in 65 innings pitched guy which is the books' worst nightmare. How do they even price that?

So far this season, our new guy Pallante has only started seven times. In those seven starts, he's fanned at least four guys four times. That's more than half people. Basic math tells us that. The thing is, he's only gone over 90 pitches in four of the seven starts. He didn't get home in two of those starts but he did get home in the last two. All's well that ends well is how I roll. We're talking about a kid with nine strikeouts in his last 9.1 innings pitched here people. Not too shabby.

Tonight he gets to see what any pitcher in MLB wants to see and that's the Cincinnati Reds. No team in MLB has struck out more over the last two weeks than they have. If we're being honest, I could strike one of these guys out. I'm serious. We're talking about a team that has fanned 152 times in their last 468 at-bats. How is that even possible? They've got five guys that could be in the lineup tonight that have whiffed 30+% of the time over the last couple of weeks. There are another four that are above 28% in the metric. I don't see a way this Pallante kid leaves this game with less than four strikeouts.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds Pick

Andre Pallante Over 3.5 Strikeouts (+120) (Bet $100 to Win $120)

*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*

We're at DraftKings because FanDuel is dragging its feet with this one. I think it's because they have ladders and they know once they post a 3.5 at plus money, people are going to slam the 5+ and 6+ lines. That's just a guess but I think it's true. It should be noted that BetMGM has this guy at 3.5 (+110) so it's worth betting there if you can't get down at DraftKings.
