On Friday, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that ace starter Adam Wainwright would make the opening day start when the team kicks off the 2013 season on the road at Arizona on April 1. Wainwright certainly deserves the opening day start, but will the Cardinals also reward Wainwright with a contract offer before then?
As was discussed on Friday night's episode of The Cruddy Show, it does not feel very likely that the Cardinals and Adam Wainwright will be able to come to terms on a long-term contract extension for the 31 year old former Cy Young Award candidate.
