ATTENTION LADIES: The Washington Nationals have a star pitcher in need of a date. Pursuant to request, only sexy ladies over the age of 21 need to inquire. This Saturday, the Washington Nationals will be holding their Dream Gala 2012, and star pitcher Gio Gonzalez needs a date. Mr. Gonzalez made his need known publicly via his personal Twitter account. Ladies, this is no run-of-the-mill Major League ball player. Gonzalez has made himself into a bona-fide star. Coming off of an All-Star 2011 season with the Oakland Athletics, Gonzalez currently has a 8-2 record with a fabulous 2.35 ERA. BEST OF MAXIM
Washington Nationals rookie Bryce Harper returned to the lineup Monday night, one day after he didn't start because of a sore back.
The 19-year-old Harper came on as a pinch hitter and scored the decisive run as the Nationals beat Boston 4-3 Sunday to complete a three-game sweep. After drawing a walk, Harper scored from first base on a ninth-inning double by Roger Bernadina...
When Chien-Ming Wang came off the disabled list, moving him into the rotation and sliding Ross Detwiler to the bullpen made sense. Detwiler had been struggling in his most recent games, and Wang had been slotted to have the fifth starter role ever since Spring Training. But since returning, Wang hasn’t done much to impress since taking over Detwiler’s spot, and enough may be...

"Edwin Jackson pitched one heck of a ball game...he was shaking his head at me. I thought that meant he was done after eight, I had my bullpen ready. He came in and said no, I want to go, I want to finish this...
At Offbase, we've had plenty of fun with Jim Riggleman in the past. Once, I even yelled out my patented 'Stinkelman!' at a Nationals-Braves game.Anyway, I sit down for an evening of Double-A baseball in Birmingham Saturday and who is managing the visiting Pensacola Blue Wahoos? Mr. Riggleman, of course."Jim! Can I get a picture?.......one more?" was probably...
Alright...I'll say it. This sucks.Former Major Leaguer (and all around good guy) Matt Stairs' home was broken into while he was away to be inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame. And the worst part about it, dude thinks it was targeted."Well I've got a feeling they knew what they wanted. I believe they were looking for the World Series ring and, of...

5 wins in a row, 14 games over .500, and 4 games up in NL East: Juggernats
Nationals 4, Blue Jays 2: Lumberjacks! Bryce Harper, Danny Espinosa, and Jhonatan Solano go deep. Nats survive Chien-Ming Wang's 5 walks, etc. Tyler Clippard nails down yet another save.
The Washington Nationals earned their fifth straight win on Tuesday, all of them against teams from the American League East, with the latest victims being the Toronto Blue Jays. Coming off of an impressive series in Boston that caused baseball fans across the country to take notice, the Nats have now split or won each of their last four series. They haven’t lost a series yet in...
Bryce Harper homered off the restaurant in center field, Danny Espinosa added a two-run blast and the Washington Nationals beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 Tuesday night, extending their winning streak to five games.
Jhonatan Solano added his first career homer as the Nationals improved to 6-2 in interleague play.
Washington's five-game winning streak matches a season best. The...
Nationals Sweep Sox as Sox Fall below .500 again
Monday June 11, 2012- I’m sure I’m like most New England Sport fans this weekend all hyped up on the Celtic’s game 7 on Saturday Night and unfortunately they lost. The Sox however didn’t give much excitement to “us” fans this weekend. The Sox only scored 9 runs and accumulated 25 k’s and were embarrassed at home. The...
Bryce Harper is lighting the MLB on fire, and making the Washington Nationals a league wide story. However despite all of the early success, Harper is keeping a level head, and not allowing silly questions to distract him from the task at hand. Check out Bryce Harper's reaction when a reporter ask the 19 year old phenom about a possible celebratory drink after the Nats pick...
No better way to cap off the weekend in Boston than Bryce Harper scoring from first in the ninth inning on Sunday on a Roger Bernadina double to score the game winning run. Here's the video:

Meanwhile, in case you're wondering how Harper spent his first game *not* starting since his callup six weeks ago?
Young MC performed at the Celebrate Fairfax festival in Virginia on Friday night while wearing a Washington Nationals Bryce Harper jersey.
Young MC was a little out of breath while performing "Bust a Move", and the jersey was two sizes two small, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it nonetheless.
Young MC was part of Friday night's "Legends of Hip-Hop"...
The Washington Nationals entered Boston on Friday without a single win at Fenway Park in their franchise’s history, including their time in Montreal. After three games in America’s oldest ballpark, the 2012 Nats made a huge change to that information. The Nats swept the Red Sox in a three-game series, moving them to 12-games above .500 on the season. Coming to you from the...
