Outfielder Starling Marte has been recalled from his rehab assignment and activated from 15-day disabled list. He is in the Pirates starting lineup batting second and playing in left field today.

Marte was placed on the disabled list on August 19 due to a right oblique strain that he suffered running the bases. Marte went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in his first rehab assignment on Tuesday as the designated hitter with State College. The rookie went a combined 2-for-7 with a walk, four runs and a RBI over two games with Triple-A Indianapolis, who are currently in the playoffs.

Flash in the pan or something more - Brock Holt

Just a disclaimer before I start this post. I'm working on kind of switching up the way I do things here on the blog. Before, a large majority of my posts were dedicated to game recaps and the like. I'm attempting to get away from that. I may still do it occasionally but only when I have writer's block. The big reason I did that for so long is in hopes...

WOOOOO. Buccos take 2 of 3 from Astros

We probably shouldn’t be this excited about the Pirates easily beating the Astros 6-3 this late in the season, but with the way the Buccos have looked the second half and with yesterday’s lineup featuring Clint Barmes batting second, Rod Barajas behind the plate, Alex Presley filling in for an injured Starling Marte, Travis Snider, Jose Tabata and Kevin Correia getting another...

Pirates commit 7 errors vs. Cubs…yes, they lost

You could look at the final score of last night’s 12-2 loss to the Cubs and just chalk it up to the Pirates blowing games that they should win down the stretch and then spending the rest of your Friday night being pissy with everyone. But if that’s the stance you’re taking, you obviously didn’t watch this one because it. was. hilarious. Oh yea, the Bucs should have been...
