On Wednesday, Gavin Floyd of the White Sox went 2.1 IP, surrendering 10 earned runs on 9 hits. He struck out 2, walked 1, and all in all got pulverized by the mighty Yankees lineup, which would score 18 runs that day.
The result was a game score of exactly zero.
Believe it or not, that’s not the worst game score of the season in the Majors – and yes, it is possible to go negative.
Can you name the five pitchers who have been even worse than Floyd this season (for 1 game, at least)?
Three of them are actually very good pitchers.
