Found December 09, 2011 on Reds Minor Leagues:
Dave Sappelt leads the way in center on my depth chart. He is a strong ranged center fielder who takes good routes, has tons of speed and reads the ball quickly off the bat. His arm is a bit below average, but his range more than makes up for it. He may not get a chance to play center because the Reds have Drew Stubbs and are likely to stick with him in center. Offensively, especially for center, Sappelt would be an above average hitter. He is going to hit for a good average, make tons of contact and show off some pop that is capable of 50 extra-base hits in a season.  To top it off, he is Major League ready right now and due to his skillset, is likely to need very little time to adjust to the Majors. Yorman Rodriguez is the best prospect among this group, but there is still a concern that he may not stick in center if he continues to grow and add a little bit of weight to his frame that will slow him down some. Right now, he has the ability to show off good range and has a cannon f...

Thursday Update from Winter Meetings

For Redlegs sake, someone please trade with Walt. Things are not going the way Reds fans had hoped they would so far at the winter meetings. That doesn't necessarily mean nothing is going to happen, as there seems that there have been plenty of talks and there's lots of offseason yet to go. It's just really frustrating when it seems like the Reds have a top...

James Shields Could Soon Be Headed To Cincinnati

John Fay of the Cincinnati Inquirer is reporting that the Rays and Reds are still discussing a potential deal, calling the deal “ongoing”… The Reds have had ongoing talks with the Tampa Bay Rays. The Reds are likely targeting right-hander James Shields, who went 16-12 with a 2.82 ERA last year. Yonder Alonso and Yasmani Grandal, the Reds’ two top trading chips, are fits for...

So Long Albert

Although the Reds made no major moves themselves during the Winter Meetings this week, they did however, manage to escape Dallas as winners. How's that you may ask? I'll tell you. This is because a long-time nemesis has not only changed to a team in another division, but another league altogether. Albert Pujols' decision to sign with the Los Angeles Angels means...
