Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Stephen Drew suffered a gruesome ankle injury when he attempted to score from second Wednesday night on a Chris Young double. It didn’t work out well for Drew. The Milwaukee Brewers wound up winning 5-2 in 10 innings on Wednesday night. Despite the Brewers win, they lost their center fielder Carlos Gomez, who fractured his left collar bone making a diving catch in the same inning as Drew’s injury. Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said Drew is lost for the season and probably needs surgery. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Gomez will be gone “maybe a couple of months.” Drew was batting .252 with only 5 home runs and 45 RBI’s.
