Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Stephen Drew suffered a nasty broken ankle in last night's D'Backs game against the Brewers when he attempted to score from second on a single to left field. Sliding into home, Drew's ankle got caught in the dirt and crushed by the weight of his body and by the time Drew's slide was completed, his foot was turned nearly 180 degrees the wrong way. The fractured ankle will require surgery and put an end to Drew's 2011 season. I bet he wishes he didn't run through his third base coach's stop sign now, huh? Woops.
PS- Dear God, you got the wrong Drew brother. Sincerely, Red Sox fans everywhere.
