The Pirates have placed Steve Pearce on the 15-day disabled list with right calf tightness. He sustained the injury while running the bases in yesterday's 10-0 win against the Cubs. The Bucs will have to make a corresponding roster move for someone to take the place of Pearce. Most likely, Andy Marte will be called up from AAA-Indianapolis. The other possibility is to call up prospect Josh Harrison who is having a very nice season so far for the Indians with a .331/.371/.469 line. To call up either of those two guys, the Pirates will have to add them to their 40-man roster, which as of now, has an open spot. However, if they also need to bring up catcher Dusty Brown, that will leave 41 spots for 40 people. The likely possibilities of opening up another spot is to either DFA reliever Chris Leroux, or move RHP Ross Ohlendorf to the 60-day disabled list from the 15-day DL.
