PLAYERS: Jose Molina
TEAMS: Tampa Bay Rays
Villarreal has fired coach Jose Molina soon after a 1-0 loss to Levante that left the Spanish club hovering above the relegation zone. The 41-year-old Molina's tenure lasted just 11 games after having replaced Juan Carlos Garrido, the former Spain goalkeeper registering three victories and five losses. Villarreal had taken only one of a possible 15 points since registering back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Villarreal did not say on Sunday who would replace Molina with the team playing Spanish leader Real Madrid on Wednesday. Villarreal is three points above Racing Santander, which can close the gap with a victory Monday against Espanyol.

The Carlos Pena Effect

Team BABIP The Tampa Bay Rays may very well get to opening day with a team payroll of around $70M which is quite admirable for a team that competes with the likes of the Yankees and the Red Sox.  Maybe that is why I find it fascinating to watch how the Rays operate.  The opportunity to get a glimpse of the collective thought process may be rare, but it seems that such an opportunity...

Season Preview: Tampa Bay Rays

Pitching is the name of the game, and you can put the RAYS’ name in bold and capital letters. Returning each and all of their relatively young and very talented starting pitchers, Manager Joe Maddon and the 2012 Tampa Bay Rays look to return to the playoffs. The 2011 regular season ended in dramatic fashion. In early September,
