RHP Chris Young (1-1, 3.06 ERA) will take the hill for the Mets tonight. Tonight will be Young’s fourth start of the season. His last start Young through seven innings allowing two earned runs. Chris Young has been quite honestly pretty awesome. He came back from shoulder surgery, throwing no higher than 85 MPH and getting big league hitters out. It’s that simple.
RHP Ivan Nova (9-2, 4.32 ERA) will take the hill for the Yankees tonight. Nova is 3-0 with a 0.79 ERA in his last three starts. But, it’s pretty hard to believe that a 4.32 ERA would give a player nine wins by June 23. But remember, the Yankees bullpen is WAY better than that of the Mets.
- The lefty lineup is back and Murphy is back hitting second. It’s really important that the Murphster starts hitting the ball again because that is why he’s on this team… not for defense, not for power, but for OBP.
- David Wright, Lucas Duda, and Ike Davis hitting back to back to back is not going to be fun for Mr. Nova. I’m expecting a homerun out of one of those men.
- If the Mets win tonight, they’ll have a chance to sweep with R.A. Dickey on the mound. A win tonight would be awesome and a sweep would be even more incredible.
LET’S GO METS!
