Found September 17, 2012 on Love My Bravos:
A friend and I both had a free weekend last week, so we drove to Atlanta together for the game on the 14th.  It had been a few years since either of us had been able to go to a game, and since this is Chipper’s last year we had extra incentive to get to a game before the end of the season.  We got to Turner Field before 4:30 and, after a bit, found the only gate that was open.  What was crazy was that not many people were going in by that gate, so at first we almost had the stadium to ourselves, which was wonderful (although none of the stores or the Museum were open yet).  We watched the first part of BP from the outfield stands, and Chipper hit a home run ball to each of us (well, ok, he hit a couple of homers and they happened to land near where we were.  It was still exciting, even though it took us a minute to figure out what had caused those “ka-thunks” and where the balls had come from.  We totally weren’t expecting it).  We also toured the Museum (which was cool) and explore...

Game Day Pictures: Braves vs Nationals 9-15-12

"They're running AT me!", as a certain friend would say. ;)   IMPORTANT THINGS FIRST. As we were reminded several times in Monday night's broadcast, there are only 14 regular season games left. That hit me really hard; I don't know why. I think it's because, while I've been to 36 professional baseball games (so far) this year, I feel a tiny bit disconnected...

Brian McCann Injury: Braves Catcher Aiming for Tuesday Return

Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann was out of the lineup once again Monday night.  While he’s still dealing with the tendinitis in his right hamstring that’s sidelined him since Saturday, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez is hoping McCann can return to action tonight, reports Tom Green of MLB.com: "It doesn't hurt him to hit," Gonzalez said...

Fans honor Chipper Jones with corn maze

Fox Sports South has brought us this tribute for retiring Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones...his likeness cut into a corn maze. The corn maze was created by Braves fans Misty and Lamar Duren of Walnut Grove, Georgia. Creating corn mazes is nothing new for them, and last year, they made a maze to honor Atlanta company Coca-Cola, celebrating its 125th anniversary. This is pretty...

Is Erasmo Ramirez the Next Kris Medlen?

The current talk of the National League is a reliever turned starter with a small body type dominating the league with three solid pitches and, specifically, a killer changeup. Kris Medlen’s season has been one of the more interesting storylines this year, which has to do with both his impressive performance as a starter and the fact that he has done so for a contending team. In...

Minor, Braves complete sweep of Nats

ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Braves gave themselves a glimmer of hope in the NL East. Hey, after what happened to these guys a year ago, they're not giving up on chasing down the first-place Washington Nationals. Mike Minor threw six strong innings, Dan Uggla broke it open with a two-run single and the Braves denied Gio Gonzalez his 20th win, completing a sweep of Washington...

Game Day Pictures: Braves vs Nationals 9-14-12

My brother hadn't been to a Braves game in a while and was so excited to go this Friday night -- he looked for tickets forever. The game turned out so well! Let's look at some pictures. Michelle: "You took no pictures of my Mac!" Uh, of course I did. Here's one. There are more in the gallery. :) Hee hee, I see you Kimmie. ❤ Oh, EO and Durbin have such great...

Have you ever seen this Beachy slo-mo vid?   Brandon Beachy at 1,500 FPS from @hill_scott on Vimeo.   Or this interview with Cristhian?     Also, seriously, can you hear this? I can only catch a "juego" and "entonces" here and there. Surely it's worth listening to, since we never ever see Cristhian interviews?

Klements, Brewers, give retirement gift to Chipper Jones

Its better than a gold watch...right? Chipper Jones is in the midst of his final illustrious Major League Baseball career. As he and the Braves make their last appearance in various cities, the fans and the opposing teams are recognizing Chipper's play and his decorated career. He received a Green Monster plaque from the Red Sox. A surfboard from the Padres. But...no one...

Gio Gonzalez tips his cap to Chipper Jones

On his way off the field in the sixth after missing out on his 20th win of the season, Gio Gonzalez tipped his cap and gave a thumbs up to Chipper Jones (who was on third thanks to a walk and then a Freddie Freeman double). Marlins' LeBlanc takes on the Braves at home

By sweeping a series from the NL East leaders, the Atlanta Braves have managed to stay in the conversation for the division crown. A far more realistic way to make the playoffs is securing the NL's first wild card, and a series with the last-place Miami Marlins should help with that endeavor, especially with Tim Hudson set to pitch. Hudson looks to win his fifth straight start...
