A pre-game television interview with Kansas City Royals pitcher Bruce Chen was photo bombed by his teammate Humberto Quintero and the move might have offended a lot of Asians.  The Royals catcher walked up behind Chen before the start of the Royals 5-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates and made a "slanted eyes" gesture into the camera as Chen was answering a question.

Chen— who is Panamanian of Chinese descent— knew someone was behind him goofing around but I don't think he knew he was imitating the offensive Spanish men's basketball team's ad from four years ago.

During Kenny Albert's interview, the reporter let Chen know someone was making faces behind him, but didn't tell him what he was doing.
"Well I'm going to make sure I check the video to see who are the guys doing it," joked Chen.
While Quintero's action was pretty crude and politically-incorrect, the two men are battery-mates and are probably like brothers to each other.  It's just an unfortunate dugout incident between two guys who see each other every day for six months straight.
Later, the catcher continued his boyish pranking and went up behind Chen and did a "moose-ears" behind his head and then showered him with sunflower seeds.
The Saturday game was played at PNC Park and— ironically— the Royals and the Pirates were wearing throwback uniforms in a tribute to the old Negro League teams— the Kansas City Monarchs and Homestead Grays.
