There are guys out there that will shell out thousands of dollars to suit up alongside some of their favorite baseball players.

For working stiff Richard Delaney, all he had to do was channel Mr. Roarke and his plucky companion Tattoo.

Confused as to what in the world that means? Then you obviously didn’t see that episode of “Fantasy Island” when Gary Burghoff played a dude who fantasized about pitching against some Major Leaguers.

The episode, called “Superstar/Salem”, first aired March 25, 1978 and included appearances by former All-Stars Steve Garvey, Fred Lynn, Ellis Valentine and real-life baseball playing brothers George and Ken Brett.

Also appearing in the episode (but not in the clips below), former Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Tommy Lasorda.

Fun fact. Did you notice George Brett was wearing Number 25 and not 5? Why was he wearing Tom Poquette’s jersey?!?

We’ll never know.

Oh…spoiler alert. Burghoff’s character (deformed hand and all…look it up, kids!) struck out all three batters he faced!
