The Cardinals season rests on the shoulders of Jake Westbrook

St. Louis — Really?  The St. Louis Cardinals (62-54) season rides on the shoulders of Jake Westbrook tonight?  Good God Man…this 2 year mistake is the worst nightmare I have had…I would say Jake Westbrook (9-5, 4.83 ERA) is to the Cardinals is what Carl Pavano was to the New York Yankees.  But at least Pavano didn’t kill the Yankees – he never pitched for them in his 4 years in New York (fine he pitched 26 games – but you get the point). The Milwaukee Brewers (66-50) extended their NL Central lead to 4 games over the Cardinals last night with a 5-3 victory at Busch Stadium and just about makes tonight’s game a must win for the Redbirds.  The Brewers have won 6 of their last 7 versus the Cardinals in 2011 and are 7-3 overall against the Redbirds.  The Brewers are playing their best baseball of the season – they are 12-1 i ntheir last 13 games overall…and in the last 2 weeks – their record has went from 54-49 to 66-50.  That ...
