Found July 11, 2013 on Baseball Hot Corner:
PLAYERS: Chris Sale
TEAMS: Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox are going nowhere this year and have a bunch of old players that will be gone either this year or after the 2014 season.  Time to reboot, reload and make another run to do that they need to trade Chris Sale. The White Sox may get decent value for Alex Rios, Jesse Crain or Matt Lindstrom.  Also maybe a sort of ok pick for Adam Dunn or Jake Peavy if he comes back healthy. However the biggest haul can be had for Chris Sale.  He was just signed to a very friendly contract and could generate a landslide of talent in return.  Remember the haul that Texas got for Teixeira and he only had a year and a half left on his contract.  This could be a Mark Teixeira, Hershel Walker, Ricky Williams like trade.  Ok I know this is a baseball site but those 2 football trades were monsters for Dallas and New Orleans. On July 31, 2007 Teixeira was traded from Texas to Atlanta for Beau Jones (who?), Elvis Andrus, Neftali Feliz, Matt Harrison and Jarrod Saltalamacchia.  Sale is curren...

Should the White Sox Trade Chris Sale?

With the White Sox an obvious seller before the trade deadline, the team and fan base seem committed to improving the future of the organization by parting with the majority of its veteran players.  Rick Hahn made it known a few weeks back that just about everyone was available for the right price.  But does that include 2013 All Star and Sox ace Chris Sale?  Ken...

Axelrod's Grip on a Stable Future is Slipping Quickly

With as bad as the White Sox 2013 season is going, there have been more bright spots than you'd expect. What's up, starting rotation? After a very consistent and impressive under-the-radar minor league career, Robin Ventura, Don Cooper & co. figured it was time to give Dylan Axelrod a chance at a regular big league job. And for a while, Dylan was impressing us...

Alex Rios leads the White Sox on a hitting attack

courtesy of www.nydailynews.com Chicago White Sox slugger Alex Rios becomes the 32nd Major League Baseball player to have six base hits on six at-bats in a nine inning game.  Rios was also the first player to collect four base hits off Cy Young winner, Justin Verlander  who seemed to be throwing batting practice as he gave up 12 of the teams 23 hits Tuesday night.  Verlander...

Frustrated Tigers lose series finale to White Sox

DETROIT (AP) -- Joshua Phegley's sixth-inning grand slam gave Chris Sale some long-awaited run support, and Chicago went on to beat the Detroit Tigers 6-3 on Thursday in a game that included a bench-clearing altercation shortly after the White Sox took the lead. Chicago trailed 3-1 when Phegley cleared the bases with a homer off Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez (7-6). Luke Putkonen...

Benches clear in Tigers-White Sox game

Detroit reliever Luke Putkonen threw a pitch behind Chicago's Alexei Ramirez, and both benches and bullpens emptied in the top of the sixth inning of Thursday's game between the Tigers and White Sox. An inning after Chris Sale threw high and inside to Tigers star Prince Fielder, the trouble occurred. Ramirez started toward the mound after nearly being hit, pointing at Putkonen...

White Sox' Jake Peavy nearing rehab start

Following yesterday's simulated game, Chicago White Sox right-hander Jake Peavy told the team that he was hoping to be activated from the disabled list this weekend to start Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Phillies. While Peavy feels ready to return, his next step is expected to be a rehab start on Sunday, not an appearance in the majors. The veteran is anxious...

Alexei Ramirez leaves White Sox game with cramps

The Chicago White Sox will be sellers over the next few weeks, but one of their trade chips might have just taken a hit in value: shortstop Alexei Ramirez left Wednesday's game in the sixth inning after hitting a single into right field. Jon Morosi of FOX Sports was among those tweeting the news during the game. Alexei Ramirez is out of the game. Grabbed his right hamstring...

Benches Clear in Tigers-White Sox Game After Luke Putkonen Throws Pitch Behind Alexei Ramirez (Video)

It’s entirely possible that Luke Putkonen just lost grip of his pitch, leading it to sail behind Alexei Ramirez at the plate, but probably not. Whatever the motive may be, though, Ramirez was none too pleased with the pitch delivered during the sixth inning of the Tigers-White Sox game at Comerica Park on Thursday afternoon. The White Sox shortstop made a few steps toward Putkonen...

Hawk Harrelson imagines he'll die in the broadcast booth

Anyone familiar with Hawk Harrelson's penchant for going totally silent during particularly painful Chicago White Sox moments might sometimes wonder if Harrelson is still in fact alive in the booth. The unabashed homer who's been calling Sox games for two decades is still kicking at the age of 71, but when he does die he wants it to happen in that exact spot.  From Red...

White Sox-Phillies Preview

The Chicago White Sox have had a miserable season - particularly offensively - but their lineup seemed to find a groove while winning a road series this week. Chicago will try to continue its hot hitting against a rookie pitcher who's been on a run of his own lately, as Jonathan Pettibone looks to win his third straight start when the Philadelphia Phillies host the White Sox...

July 10: Tigers 8 White Sox 5

While the White Sox offense played well again, the pitching was not there this time around. Dylan Axelrod was roughed up early, and the team just could not dig themselves out of an early hole. Detroit Handles “Ax” Once again, it was just not Dylan Axelrod’s night, and we’ve been saying that all too often recently. Dylan was able to help the bullpen out by pitching...

White Sox blast Tigers, 11-4

DETROIT (AP) -- Alex Rios tied an American League mark with six hits in a nine-inning game and Adam Dunn hit a go-ahead, two-run homer off Justin Verlander in the eighth to lift the Chicago White Sox to an 11-4 win over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. Dayan Vicideo's second homer of the game helped the White Sox score seven runs in the eighth inning, and they scored three more...

July 11: White Sox 6 Tigers 3

Going into this series, no one figured the White Sox had much of a chance against the dreaded lineup of the Detroit Tigers. However, the Sox took the rubber match of the series on Thursday afternoon, giving them the series victory. The Sox used some timely hitting and pitched well to win this one. It’s the first series win for the Sox in Detroit since July of 2011, as since...
