The Rockies have claimed 27-year old righty swinging outfielder Andrew Brown off waivers from the Cardinals. Brown played in 11 games in his first taste of the majors this year for the Cardinals, and he was 4 for 22 (.182 avg, .409 OPS) with 1 run scored, 0 homers and 3 RBIs. Brown also played in 107 games in AAA-ball this year and he was 102 of 359 (.284 avg, .883 OPS) with 67 runs scored, 20 homers, 73 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. Brown will get to compete for a job on the Rockies’ bench for 2012 in spring training.

Colorado Rockies lefthander Drew Pomeranz was arrested early Friday morning in Oxford, Miss. for disturbing the peace.
The arrest took place at 1:25 a.m. local time. Pomeranz, 22, was released on a cash bond just over three hours later.
In 2008, Pomeranz was arrested for refusing to take a Breathalyzer test, giving false information to police and possession of a fake ID.

In an announcement by the Colorado Rockies on their Twitter account, the team has claimed infielder/outfielder Andrew Brown off of waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals.
Brown, 27, hit .284 with 20 home runs and 73 RBIs while he was with Triple-A Memphis. Additionally, he was named a Pacific Coast League All Star last season.

The 5th overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Cleveland Indians was being raucous in Oxford, Mississippi and has since posted bail. Maybe the Ole Miss grad was partying at his old stomping grounds and got a bit out of control. No harm, no foul. Give the kid a break.
