Rockies Locker:
The Rockies have released 27-year old lefty starting pitcher Greg Smith. Smith started 8 games for the Rockies last year and he was 1-2 with a 6.23 ERA and a 1.87 WHIP. He also pitched in 22 games (22 starts) in two years in the minors for the Rockies and he was 3-7 with a 6.45 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP. The Rockies figure that they have seen more than enough of Smith to know that he won’t help them any time soon and that was the reason for his release.
