Now that Ryan Braun has been suspended for the remainder of the 2013 season, it’s time for everyone to mount their trusty high horse and moralize about what Ryan Braun owes to whom. This insatiable need to crusade for virtue has infested nearly every media platform, new and old. Columnists, radio hosts, tv talking heads, bloggers, and random people on twitter all have some tut-tutting to do, just to show you how great their capacity for caring and empathy is. Unfortunately, it’s all ********. First up in this cavalcade of grandstanding is ESPN’s Buster Olney. Olney was in rare form late Monday afternoon, insisting that Braun apologize to players on the 2011 Arizona Diamondbacks playoff roster, who lost to the Brewers 3-2 in the NLDS. Olney also demanded that Braun apologize to specimen collector Dino Laurenzi, Jr., whom Olney (and many others) feels was wrongly smeared by Braun during the appeal process for Braun’s initial overturned suspension.
